The Quest Arena 11+ worksheet library, in full

Every worksheet on this page is completely free — no subscription, no paywall, and no sign-up required to download. The library is built to mirror the shape of a real GL Assessment paper: multiple-choice questions, tight timings, no calculator, and a separate OMR (optical mark recognition) answer sheet so your child gets used to transferring answers under pressure. Below is a plain-English guide to what the library covers, how the difficulty tiers work, and a simple weekly routine you can follow from Year 4 right through to exam week.

The five subject areas we cover

Most UK 11+ exams test four core skill areas, and Quest Arena adds a dedicated SPaG strand (spelling, punctuation and grammar) because it underpins the English paper and is where a lot of easy marks are won or lost. Each subject is worth exploring in its own right:

How the four difficulty tiers work

Every worksheet is labelled with one of four tiers so you can match the challenge to where your child is today, not to their school year on paper. The tiers are a ladder — start where the work feels achievable with a bit of effort, then climb.

Tier Typical year group What it builds
Foundation Year 4 Confidence with the basics and question formats
Developing Year 5 Speed and accuracy on familiar topics
Secure Year 6 Reliable exam-level performance under timing
Greater Depth Year 6 stretch Grammar-school and scholarship-level challenge

Because GL results are reported as an age-adjusted Standard Age Score (where 100 is the average for a child's exact age in months), there is no fixed "pass mark" you can drill towards. What matters is steady, timed practice across all four skill areas — which is exactly what the tier ladder is designed to give you.

A free weekly practice routine that works

Little and often beats occasional marathons. Around three to four short sessions a week keeps momentum without burning your child out. Here is a balanced week you can start this weekend, entirely free:

  1. Session 1 — English & SPaG. One comprehension worksheet plus a short SPaG drill. Read the passage twice before answering.
  2. Session 2 — Maths. One timed worksheet at your current tier. Redo any wrong questions the next day, not on the spot.
  3. Session 3 — Verbal or Non-Verbal Reasoning. Alternate each week so both get regular attention over a month.
  4. Session 4 (optional) — mixed review. Pick the weakest topic from the week and repeat one worksheet, always using the OMR sheet.

Mark every worksheet with the included Answer Key and keep a simple note of which topics come up wrong. That error log — not the raw score — is the single most useful thing you can build over a term. When a tier starts to feel easy, step up. When your child can complete full mock papers comfortably, book a centre mock for a realistic exam-hall rehearsal, and check the key 11+ dates so registration deadlines never sneak up on you.

Where worksheets fit alongside everything else

Worksheets are for building and repairing skills; mocks are for testing them under real conditions. Use this library for day-to-day practice, then turn to the revision hub to shore up specific topics, the exam guides to understand how each paper is structured, and the grammar schools directory to see exactly which board and format your target schools use. Everything here — worksheets, answer keys, OMR sheets, guides and mocks — is free, forever.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Quest Arena worksheets really free?

Yes. Every worksheet, answer key and OMR sheet downloads for free with no account, no card details and no trial. Quest Arena is free for families, teachers and tutors alike.

Which exam board do these match — GL, CEM or CSSE?

The worksheets follow the multiple-choice, tightly-timed GL Assessment style, which is now the dominant format across most UK regions since CEM's separate 11+ was discontinued. The four skill areas are common to nearly every board, so the practice transfers well to CSSE and bespoke independent-school papers too. Check the GL papers and CSSE papers pages for board-specific detail.

What tier should my child start on?

Start one tier below where you think they are and let an early win build confidence. If a Foundation worksheet is completed accurately and quickly, move up to Developing. There is no rush to Greater Depth — steady progress across all four skills matters far more than the label on the page. See how it works for a full walkthrough.
